Pitt State Homecoming Parade

by Ciara Battin

The Midway High School band and color guard traveled to Pitt State to compete in their annual homecoming parade on Saturday, October 14th. “I feel like we did very well,” quoted Mr. Smith. The band placed 6th out of 10 other participating bands. The color guard was also did very well. They placed 3rd out of 5. The color guard has had a very good year this year with the help of Mrs. Julie Puckett who has been teaching them many new skills including flags, swing flags, and rifles. This was the final marching competition for the band for 2017. The band will perform at the remaining home football games and at the upcoming Veteran’s Day assembly.
