Vikings Skin The Marksmen

The Vikings faced off against the Sherwood Marksmen for this year’s Senior Parent Night. The Vikings scored first with a pass from Josh Yahnig to Cameron Stricker with the PAT attempt being good. The Vikings scored again with a run up the middle by Justin Hineman with the PAT attempt being good again. The Vikings scored a third time with a long run by Xavier Mendoza but the PAT being no good, ending the first quarter with a score of 20-0. The Vikings scored first in the second quarter with a run up the middle by Dawsen Zummwalt with the PAT being good. The Marksmen finally answered back by taking the kickoff back for a touchdown with the PAT being good. The Vikings scored again before half with a touchdown pass from Yahnig to Dalton Phillips with the PAT being good, ending the first half with a score of 34-7. The Vikings started off the second half with a long run up the middle by Blake Scholl with the PAT being good. The Vikings had the last score of the game with a pass from Colton Dean to Cole Young with the PAT being no good, ending the game with the score 47-7.

The Vikings had 16 ball carriers, leading them was Moses Morrison with 11 carries for 77 yards, behind him was Mason Adams and Mendoza with 6 carries, M. Adams had 38 yards and Mendoza had 77. The most targeted receiver was Mendoza with 4 catches for 42 yards and a lot of Vikings had 1 reception.

The Vikings had a total of 434 yards, 330 of that being rushing and 104 being passing.

The Vikings defensive held the Marksmen to only 70 yards. Hineman led the team in unassisted tackles with 4. Dylan Bayard, Boog Chandler, Dalton Phillips, Ike Riggs, Scholl, and Yahnig all had 2 unassisted tackles. Numerous Vikings had 1 unassisted tackles. Bayard, Chandler, Thomas Endecott, and Riggs had 2 assisted tackles. Lots of Vikings had 1 assisted tackle. The Vikings had 3 interceptions, Braydon Anderson, Bayard, and Mendoza each had 1 interception.
